- at least 4 colors of fabric, two for the contrasting triangles, one for the outside border, and one for the backing
- an attractive color of quilt binding. The binding is a cloth strip that will sandwich the outer hem to create a finished edge
- a color of thread that matches your fabrics
- scissors
- sewing machine
